Here is a set of mechanical drawings that address the 2mm offset issue that has appeared on the DL1000. The boiled down version is this, the sprocket carrier doesn't fit as snugly into the hub as it should, and will cause the carrier bearing to wear faster than it should. This also increases the rate at which the cush rubbers in the rear hub wear. These spacers address the cause of this by moving the sprocket carrier deeper into the hub. This has had the effect of extending the wear of the cush rubbers and the carrier bearing. It also eases the transition from first gear to second gear, something that has been mentioned by numerous Strom owners as severe.
